Biography

Suchismita Sen is an Associate Teaching Professor in Asian Studies and the director of the Hindi Program at Penn State. Her research and teaching interests include the history of South Asian religions and their influence on the region’s culture, literature, and languages. Her publications include “Shifting Sensibilities and a Bengali Ritual Tale,” Asian Folklore Studies, vol. In addition to Hindi language courses, Sen teaches courses on south Asian religious traditions, history of Indian literature, and survey courses on world religions. Sen is also interested in the study of religion and cognitive behavior.
